World Sight Day

This day is observed every year on the Second Thursday of October focusing on awareness on eye care and treatment. NAB-TNSB has been collaborating with M/s. M.N. Eye Hospital to observe the day. The topic was Eye Donation. We visited 3 old age homes. M/s. Akshya Trust, Mudichoor and Velappanchavadi and the third M/s. Amma Appa Old Age Home at Vandaloor on the 12th of October 2023. There were 125 participants. Dr. Shruthi spoke to them about eye care and the impact eye donation can have on visually impaired specially children. Around 60 participants pledged their eyes. Mr. Senthil, coordinator Eye donations and Mr. Karthick who coordinates the camps were present. Ladies Circle 70 has donated Rs. 6000 for an eye camp at one of the old age home. This could be the first camp and there is an opportunity for further collaboration with M/s. M.N. Eye hospital.
